Rich “Trigger” Bontrager believes there is gold in everyone.
A lot of people say that. Rich lives it.
Rich knows that Addiction and Recovery crosses all boundaries; race, sex, age, financial status and more. With those that struggle with addiction there is often great shame, loss, and sense of worthlessness. From years of teaching, serving and coming along side of recovering addicts, and ex-cons Rich shares the amazing truth that, “There is still gold with you!” Learn how to “mine” for the gold that is thought to be lost, but is only hidden.
Rich is a motivational speaker, sportscaster, & Pastor on a mission to help people defy the odds of life. He draws on his personal and professional experiences and works every day to make this world a better place.
Rich also knows what it’s like to face adversity. Growing up he struggled with a bad stutter, physical differences with his eye, and was bullied brutally. Later in life he fell ill, and had to put his life on hold for three years while waiting for a liver transplant.
In this episode Rich bursts the myth that “sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt,” he talks about his experiences working alongside individuals and groups dealing with addiction and recovery, and his own recovery from near death.
